General Volunteer Information

Typical Time Commitment: 4 Hours per day (unless otherwise specified)

Benefits to volunteers: Meet new people (whether it is staff or other volunteers), volunteering at the best thrift store (voted in 2013) gives a great feeling giving back to the community/shoppers who voted us. Volunteers who work 4 hours per month are allowed 20% off purchases.


Volunteer Options

Greeter: Stand at the door and greet customers as they enter and exit the store and hand out promotional sales information. Roam the floor and help customers.

  • M-Sa: 10am – 4pm

Fitting Room attendant: Monitor fitting rooms, putting away fitting room clothing.

  • M-Sa: 9am – 5:30pm

Janitoral: Maintaining sales floor and building facilities.

  • M-Sa: 9am – 1pm

Clothing Hanger: Hanging/sizing clothing in the back, getting them ready for the sales floor.

  • M-F: 9am – 5:30pm

Book & Toy Handler: Pricing and placement of books and toys on the sales floor.

  • M-Sa: 9am – 5:30pm

Softlines Straightener: Straightens and organizes clothes.

  • M-Sa: 9am – 5:30pm

Hardlines Straightener: Straightens and organizes sales floor.

  • M-Sa: 9am – 5:30pm

Softlines Puller: Pulls all old color clothing off store floor.

  • M: 9am – 5:30pm

Hardlines Puller: Pulls all old color hardlines off store floor.

  • M: 9am – 5:30pm

Grounds Keeper: Mow and trim grass during summer.

Community Garden: We would like to get one started; therefore, would need help with preparing the area, tilling, planting and weeding. All of the product would be donated to the Ruby’s Pantry Food Shelf.
